Nd, Y) PO4
Reserve : 11 million ton of heavy minerals.
Industrial utilities:
Ilmenite :
1. The primary ore of titanium.
2. Manufacture of titanium dioxide for paint pigments.
3. To manufacture a wide variety of metal parts where light weight and very high
strength are needed. (e.g. aircraft parts, artificial joints for humans and sporting
equipment such as bicycle frames.)
4. Used in a number of high-performance alloys.
